Volunteers Packing Food

OUR MISSION

To be a faith-based community that shows compassion and provides spiritual and nutritional food for individuals and families who are in need.

Our Story

The ecumenical food pantry was a vision of three churches who saw the need in our rural community.  We are a partnership of Delta Community Presbyterian Church, St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and Byron United Methodist Church. We formed under the care of St. Vincent de Paul Society of Contra Costa County.  The pantry became operational in October of 2010 serving 20 registered families with just weekly bread and has since grown to serving fresh produce, meat, bread, canned goods, dairy, and more.

The food pantry now serves over 175 families every week.

  • Food continues to be distributed by the work of over 20 volunteers every Tuesday.

  • Food procurement occurs throughout the week with our volunteer drivers.

  • Food is stored in two 40' insulated containers. Refrigerated products are stored in our numerous commercial refrigerators and freezers.

  • Food is delivered to locations in our box truck and our refrigerated van as well as volunteers' trucks and vehicles.

"Blessed are you who are hungry, for you will be filled". Luke 6:21
